Seahawks named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad

Newport, R.I. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) announced its 2014 Division III Academic Honor Squads and Salve Regina was among five Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schools to receive the honor.

Salve Regina was one of 125 Division III schools to be named an Academic Honor Squad for women's lacrosse. Every school with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher earned the award.

Salve Regina bested half of its non-conference opponents in 2014 and brought the same competitiveness to the classroom that it displayed on the field.

The other Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schools that were recognized included Endicott, Roger Williams, University of New England, and Western New England.

In total, the IWLCA bestowed 254 colleges and universities across all three NCAA divisions of women's lacrosse with academic honor squad recognition.
