MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women’s lacrosse team scored twice in the final minute of play to seal a 13-10 victory over Salve Regina University during a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship quarterfinal round matchup at Gaudet Field on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks avenged a loss to Salve Regina earlier this month, improving to 6-11 on the season, while the Seahawks fall to 11-6 overall.

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University women’s lacrosse team had four players announced as members of the 2012 All-Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s lacrosse team, while also earning the CCC Team Sportsmanship Award. Junior Kelly Burke (Georgetown, Mass.) highlighted the selections as a member of the All-CCC First Team, while senior Sarah Livingston (Westford, Mass.), junior Danielle Malconian (Belmont, Mass.), and sophomore Josie O’Reilly (Middletown, R.I.) were named to the All-CCC Second Team.

The victory improves the Seahawks to a program-best 11-5 overall, while the Eagles fall to 5-8 on the season.

The loss drops the Seahawks to 9-4 overall and 2-3 during Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action, while the Fighting Scots improve to 9-3 on the season, including a 3-2 conference mark.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University junior Kelly Burke and sophomore Josie O'Reilly were both announced as recipients of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon. Burke was selected as the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, while O'Reilly was named CCC Defensive Player of the Week.

Livingston scored the game-winning goal with just 15 seconds remaining in overtime. The senior captain is now Salve Regina's all-time leader in game-winning goals.

With the win, the Seahawks match their program record for wins in a season, improving to 9-3 overall while evening their conference ledger at 2-2. The Bison slip to 4-7 on the year and 0-5 in league play.
