NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team travels to face UMass Boston in the quarterfinals of the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Championships.

LAST TIME OUT
Salve Regina was defeated by Plymouth State 3-2 in the final game of the regular season. The Seahawks led 2-0 but the Panthers scored three unasnwered goals to close out the game. The Seahawks got 35 saves from junior net minder Jennifer O'Connell in the loss.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST
- This is the 12th straight season the Seahawks have qualified for the post-season.
- Taylor Chisholm leads the Seahawks in goal and asissts with eight apiece.
- O'Connell appeared in 23 games for Salve Regina stopping 761 shots for a .915 save percentage.
- O'Connell's 761 saves rank 1st in the NEHC and 4th in all of Division III.
BEACONS BLOG
- The Beacons claimed the 2016 NEHC Championship.
- The Beacons eliminated the Seahawks from the postseason last season with a 3-1 victory on February 25, 2017.
- Third-year head coach Lindsay Berman was named Co-Coach of the Year, while three Beacons were named All-NEHC selections.
- Jane Morrisette earned the program's first First Team All-Conference selection since Maria Nasta '12 in the 2007-08 campaign.
- Picking-up Second Team honors were Bri Colucci and Kaleigh Beauregard.
