MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Third-ranked Norwich University women's ice hockey (USCHO.com) posted its fifth straight shutout with a 3-0 road victory against Salve Regina University at St. George's in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's East action.

The Cadets (5-1-1; 5-0-0 ECAC) scored a goal in each period and Celeste Robert (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) stopped all 28 shots taken by the Seahawks (2-3-0; 2-3-0 ECAC).

Salve Regina wasted four power-play opportunities in the first period. The first came when Erin Joyce (Manchester, N.H.) was whistled for interference at 3:26. Joyce later assisted on the game's first goal, the first goal of the season for the Cadets' leader in assists, Sarah Schwenzfeier (Hingham, Mass.).

In the second period, the Seahawks were successful killing off the first two of three penalties. Colleen Marcik (Madison, Conn.) made several sensational saves for Salve Regina including a roll over on a rebound. Grace Nardiello (Lake Placid, N.Y.) went to the box at 17:39 for interference, and with 26 seconds remaining on the power-play Joyce scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season for a 2-0 lead after two periods.

Once again Salve Regina played the first nine plus minutes of a period unscathed.
