CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Freshman Colleen Marcik (Madison, Conn.) has enjoyed one of the most impressive freshman seasons between the pipes for the Salve Regina women's ice hockey team and has been named the ECAC Women's East Goalie of the Week, as announced by the conference office. 

The Seahawks secured the number two seed in the ECAC East up coming playoffs with an 8-2 win over Nichols Sunday night. The Seahawks kicked off the weekend with a 3-0 shutout of Manhattanville, just their fourth win in the all-time series and largest margin of victory over the Valiants.

Marcik posted her second complete game shut out of the season complete with 19 saves Friday night against Manhattanville. Marcik followed the performance with a win Sunday night in the net, allowing just one first period goal to Nichols. Marcik made 16 stops in 40:00 in the net.

Salve Regina will face the seventh-seeded Plymouth State on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. at St. George's Ice Arena.
