Seahawks down Golden Bears on the road, 51-50

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Salve Regina University women's basketball traveled to the city of the birthplace of the game and delivered an upset against Western New England University, 51-50, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Seniors Kerri Beland (Attleboro, Mass.) and Tara Burke (Londonderry, N.H.) led the Seahawks (6-9, 2-4 CCC) with 10 points apiece, while Meghan Orbann had a game-high 16 points for the Golden Bears (9-5, 4-3 CCC). Orbann went five-for-five from the free throw line as the Golden Bears made all 19 attempts from the charity stripe.
