Seahawks split a pair of games in Mercy Tournament

DALLAS, Pa. - Salve Regina University women's basketball splits its two games with sister institutions (founded by the Sisters of Mercy) in the Mercy Tournament hosted by Misericordia University (Nov. 24-25, 2018). The Seahawks earned their first win of the season on Sunday, a 73-59 decision over Gwynedd Mercy College, as junior Torie Scorpio (Cranston, R.I.) scored a career-high 28 points to lead the way over the Griffins (3-3).

Scorpio had 14 points in a 70-56 loss to the host Cougars (5-0) on Saturday. Misericordia defeated Mount Aloysius College on Sunday to remain undefeated (6-0) on the season.

Mary Rorke (Norton, Mass.) had 14 of her game-high 17 points in the first quarter against Misericordia on Saturday, and the Seahawks led 22-19.

Each team donated toys for a local collection.
