Scots clip Seahawks, 66-49

WENHAM, Mass. - Gordon hosted Salve Regina in CCC play and held them to a 25.0 percent shooting percentage from the field in its 66-49 win.

The Fighting Scots (5-9, 3-4 CCC) started the game with an 18-10 run for an eight-point lead. They stretched the lead out to 20 points with a 23-10 run in the second quarter which gave them a 41-21 lead at halftime. They held the Seahawks (7-7, 4-4 CCC) to shooting 22.6 percent from the floor in the first half.

Jenna Olson scored nine points and grabbed three rebounds in the first half. Meghan Foley and Brooke Dyson both scored eight points and pulled in two rebounds.

Salve Regina cut the lead down to ten points with a 20-10 run in the third quarter. Gordon closed out the game by holding the Seahawks to only eight points in the fourth quarter while they scored 15 points. Kerri Beland (Attleboro, Mass.) and Ally Esielionis (Shirley, Mass.) led the Seahawks in scoring with 18 and 10 points, respectively.

Foley finished with 18 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Sarah Gibbs recorded her second straight double-double as she scored 12 points and grabbed ten rebounds. She also blocked four shots and dished out four assists. Jess Ryan also finished in double-figures with ten points. She also pulled in four rebounds and had three assists.
