NEWPORT, R.I. - Kerri Beland (Attleboro, Mass.) scored a game-high 27 points including six 3-pointers to lift Salve Regina University women's basketball to an 86-68 victory over Rivier University in the consolation game of the Fairfield Inn and Suites Tournament hosted by UMass Dartmouth.

BRISTOL, R.I. - Second-seeded Roger Williams University escaped an upset bid by seventh-seeded Salve Regina University in the quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball championships, outlasting the Seahawks in double-overtime with a 51-47 final.

Scorpio also earned a selection to the second team, and is joined on the squad by sophomore teammate Kerri Beland (Attleboro, Mass.) who earned votes for a third team nod.
