CCC Rookie of the Week: Allyson Esielionis

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman forward Allyson Esielionis (Shirley, Mass.) as its Rookie of the Week for women's basketball (Dec. 1-7).

Rookie of the Week - Esielionis collected 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in a 2-0 week for the Seahawks. Esielionis's top performance came in a 65-54 win over Wentworth as she notched a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. In a 53-46 victory over Nichols, she scored 11 points, pulled down nine rebounds, two steals and three blocks. For the week, Esielionis shot 42% (10-of-24) from the field and an impressive 78% (7-of-9) from the free throw line.

Salve Regina (5-3; 2-0 CCC) closes its first semester action with a home doubleheader against Roger Williams University on Tuesday. Esielionis and her teammates tip off the first game against the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on the Rodgers Recreation Center floor. Andrew Pezzelli and Christian Lawber bring the action to all fans on the webcast.
