SALVE REGINA VS. NICHOLS
  • Salve Regina has won 28 of 37 meetings with Nichols, including the last seven straight.
  • The Seahawks had won eight straight against the Bison from 1992 through 2001.
  • When the Bison beat the Seahawks, 60-58, on February 9, 2002, they ended a then program-record 12-game win streak for Salve Regina.
  • Nichols' last win in the series (67-56 in Newport on January 21, 2009) came in the 2008-09 regular season when the Bison earned the No. 1 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships. Salve Regina was the No. 5 seed that season and won three playoff games on the road, including an upset 60-45 score in Dudley over the Bison, to claim its seventh overall title.
  • In their last meeting, Meaghan Harden led all scorers with 25 points as Salve Regina University won its fourth-straight to improve to 14-9 (11-5) with a 63-47 triumph over Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Nichols Athletic Center.
  • Kasey Pelletier scored a team-high 16 points in the Bison loss. Devon Spirka recorded her first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 10 boards as the Bison fell to 6-17 (3-12 CCC) with the loss.
  • The two schools combined to miss the first 10 shots of the game and 16 of the first 18 shots overall.
  • With the score tied at four less than six minutes into the opening stanza, the Seahawks went on a 10-0 run behind four points from Kaitlyn Birrell to open up a 14-4 lead. Salve Regina closed the half on 9-0 run to take a 30-14 lead to the locker room.

  • Brianna Del Valle scored 12 of her team-high 14 points in the second half but it was not enough as the Salve Regina University women's basketball team fell to visiting UMass Boston, 60-54, in non-league action at the Rodgers Recreation Center.
  • The game went scoreless for the first three minutes until Beacons sophomore forward Olivia Murphy connected on a layup at 16:34.
  • All 28 first-half points for UMass Boston came from inside the paint. The Beacons were 0-for-7 from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes and misfired on all three free-throw attempts.
  • Seahawk freshman guard Kelsey Kennedy came off the bench and immediately made an impact with her 3-pointer at 13:39 to give her team an 8-6 lead.

  • Senior captain Kasey Pelletier recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in Nichols College's 64-39 win over Lyndon State in non-conference women's basketball action December 10, 2013, at Stannard Gymnasium.
  • Junior captain Alexis Wegrzynek scored 14 points to lead the Bison (6-2) to their second-straight win.
  • Senior captain Devon Spirka chipped in with nine points, five boards and two dimes while junior Amber Litwinko and freshman Julia Zawacki each netted eight points.
  • Since its last time out, Nichols has added 6'2" forward Elizabeth McKinley, a sophomore transfer who last played at Southern Connecticut University.
