NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University softball senior designated player Kara O'Riley (Acton, Mass.) earned a selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Team.

O'Riley now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. The senior captain is a three-time Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Academic Team member, an All-CCC third-team third baseman (2014), and an All-CCC third-team designated player (2016, 2017).

Majoring in education with a 3.70 grade point average, O'Riley was named to the All-Tournament Team at NCAA Regional (May 13-14, 2016 at Medford, Mass.) after she helped lead Seahawks to first appearance in NCAA postseason while capturing their fifth Commonweath Coast Conference (CCC) title. She has batted over.300 every season, and is second all-time in school history in HRs and slugging percentage.
