CCC Pitcher of the Week: Kelsey Boarman

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior Kelsey Boarman (No. Dighton, Mass.) as its pitcher of the week for softball (April 24-30).

Pitcher of the Week - CCC Pitcher of the Year, Boarman had another standout week. The senior tossed two complete-game shutouts, which included a CCC postseason win over Endicott to advance Salve Regina to the winner's bracket. Boarman only gave up six hits for the week, striking out six. Against the Gulls, only one ball left the infield in the air, a pop-out to right fielder Amanda Riley (Barrington, N.H.).

Top-seeded Salve Regina (23-11, 14-2 CCC) has a non-league home doubleheader date with MIT on Wednesday, before resuming defense of its conference title on Friday at Toppa Field. The Seahawks host the six-team tournament field on Friday and Saturday; Salve Regina will face second seed Western New England on Friday (4 p.m.) and both are guaranteed to play Saturday.
