CCC Player of the Week: Amanda Riley
NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University sophomore Amanda Riley (Barrington, N.H..) as its player of the week for softball (April 10-16).
Player of the Week - Riley helped her team solidify its spot at the top of the conference standings with a 5-1 week in league play. She batted .545 (6-for-11) with four RBI and three runs scored. She had hits in all, but one of the Seahawks' contests and had multiple hits in two of them. The sophomore also had two stolen bases.
"Amanda has really taken advantage of her opportunities at the plate this past week," first-year head coach Jannelle Iaquinto remarked. "She is a clutch hitter with a great approach who continues to produce!"
Salve Regina (16-9, 11-1 CCC) has three conference road dates this week while hosting non-league Eastern Connecticut State University on Thursday at Toppa Field (4 p.m.).
