NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior Kelsey Boarman (No. Dighton, Mass.) as its pitcher of the week for softball (April 3-9).

Pitcher of the Week - Boarman went 4-0 this week for the Salve Regina. She started the week with a shutout against UMass Boston, surrendering only four hits. She followed that performance up by pitching a trio of victories against CCC teams. During the second game against Endicott, she made a relief appearance in the third inning with the Seahawks trailing by two runs. She blanked the Gulls for the rest of the game enabling Salve Regina to come from behind to win.

"Kelsey has been tremendous in the circle for us and experience is certainly playing a factor in our success," first-year head coach Jannelle Iaquinto remarked. "She keeps our opponents off balance which allows our offense to do what they do best. It has been great to see her gain control and command of her pitches this early on in our season."

With the four pitching victories, Boarman (36) passes her former teammate Nicole Parry (35) on the school's all-time win list. She is currently one win behind fourth-place holder Erin Larrivee (2002-05).

Salve Regina (11-8, 6-0 CCC) has won 12 of its last 14 at home and returns to Toppa Field on Tuesday when it hosts Wentworth Institute of Technology in a CCC doubleheader (5 and 7 p.m.).
