Summary
CLERMONT, Fla. - Salve Regina University sophomore catcher Emily Woznick (Sandy Hook, Conn.) has hit a homerun in each of her team's first three games, and helped the Seahawks to a split of their first two games in Florida.

The Seahawks applied the mercy rule (lead by eight or more runs after five innings) against the Blazers for an 11-3 win in six frames. The College of Saint Benedict had won eight straight before its final game in Florida ended early, now returning to Minnesota with an 11-3 overall record.

Salve Regina head coach Jannelle Iaquinto earned her first collegiate victory behind the five-hit pitching performance of senior Kelsey Boarman (No. Dighton, Mass.). In the nightcap, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute improved to 6-0 after jumping out to a 7-0 lead and hanging on for a 7-4 final over Salve Regina.

Series and Streaks
Iaquinto's first-ever victory as a head coach was the first-ever meeting between Salve Regina and the College of Saint Benedict in any sport. The Engineers of Rensselaer improved to 3-0 all-time in softball meetings with the Seahawks; other wins came in 2001 and 2014, in Florida.

1. Sophomore catcher Emily Woznick (Sandy Hook, Conn.) belted home runs in both games and now has a roundtripper in each of her team's first three games.

Salve Regina's offense got rolling against Saint Benedict, banging out 19 hits and scoring 11 runs. Undefeated Engineers limited the Seahawk bats to six hits and kept them off the scoreboard until Woznick's blast in the sixth inning.

Turning Points
A four-run second inning allowed Salve Regina to take control of its game with Saint Benedict. Opposing pitcher Stephanie Caudle hit a three-run first-inning home run to catapult the Engineers to a 7-4 victory over the Seahawks.
