CLERMONT, Fla. - Salve Regina University softball suffered two losses on Tuesday during its Florida trip. Geneseo State defeated the Seahawks, 7-3, before Messiah took a 9-1 decision in the later game.
Freshman Laura Anne Dinan (Monterey, Mass.) went 2-for-3 versus Geneseo State with both a run scored and a run batted in, while junior Ali Muehlbronner (Glenside, Pa.) and Jillian Quintana (Denver, Colo.) both inished 1-for-3 with a double. In the night cap, sophomore Marissa Simpson (Brimfield, Mass.) had three of the Seahawks four hits versus Messiah, going 3-for-3 at the dish while scoring the only Salve Regina run. Junior catcher Megan Jakiela (Meridan, Conn.) finished 1-for-3 with a single in the loss, while Quintana collected the team's only RBI.
