LINCOLN, R.I. – Sophomore Aidan Lynch (Little Silver, N.J.) and freshman Greg Cran (Wrentham, Mass.) led the Salve Regina men's cross country team to a second-place finish in the Tri-State Invitational on Saturday. Lynch and Cran both finished inside the top 10 – at sixth place and eight place, respectively – to key the scoring for the Seahawks.

Cran was the frontrunner for the Seahawks in the first of four loops on the trails on the Community College of Rhode Island campus, with Lynch leading a pack that included juniors Riley Rancourt (Warren, R.I.) and Chandler Da Cruz (Middletown, R.I.) and senior Dan Donnelly (Portsmouth, R.I.).

The scene was the same on the second loop, with Cran running an even, steady race and holding a position safely inside the top 10. Lynch was not far behind, eventually overtaking his teammate on the third loop. Lynch was the first Seahawk across the finish line on the 8,000-meter course, crossing at 30:38.5. Cran finished at 30:46.3. Rancourt, Da Cruz and Donnelly completed the scoring for Salve Regina.

Eastern Connecticut freshmen Ryan Escoda and John Walker posted a 1-2 finish to lead the Warriors to the team championship. The Warriors posted a team score of 43. Salve Regina was second with 64.
