Hawks take home match versus Seahawks

BRISTOL, R.I. –The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team moved above .500 with a 9-0 win over Salve Regina University Thursday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

The Hawks improve to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Salve Regina drops to 1-7 and 0-3 in the CCC. 

Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) defeated Will Chasse (Greenville, R.I.) and Trevor Jones (South Hamilton, Mass.) 8-0 at #2 while Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) and Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) downed Kevin Brocks (Albany, N.Y.) and D.J. Bisaillon (Watertown, Conn.) 8-4 at #1. Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) collected an 8-6 win over Will Masse (Redding, Conn.) and Aaron White (Falmouth, Maine) at #3.

At singles, the Hawks earned three wins from Spoor, Cole, and O'Leary without dropping a game. Spoor won his #3 match over Brocks, and Cole won at #4 over Jones. O'Leary claimed his match at #6 against White. At #1 White picked up a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Masse, while Rosenberg set down Bisaillon 6-2, 6-1 at #2. Deibe wrapped up the clean sweep for the Hawks with his 6-1, 6-3 win against Chasse.

Roger Williams heads to Endicott tomorrow, while Salve Regina hosts Eastern Nazarene on Saturday for its Senior Day - Kevin Brocks, Will Masse, Zach Monahan.
