Seahawks land 80 on Spring All-CCC Academic Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Salve Regina University placed 80 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference Spring Academic All-CCC Team, second-most in the conference, including junior Kerri Beland (No. Attleboro, Mass.) who represented the Seahawks on two sports (women's basketball and women's lacrosse).

The first-ever McAuley Cup was given in honor of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy - who founded Salve Regina, to the 2017-18 Salve Regina men's ice hockey team.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University director of athletics Jody Mooradian bestowed dozens of awards to student-athletes and staff on Friday evening, including the department's female and male athletes of the year - senior Amber Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) of field hockey, and junior Blake Wojtala (Trenton, Mich.) of men's ice hockey.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University head men's tennis coach Peter Torgrimson has announced a pair of seniors as his captains for the 2017-18 squad. Four-year players Kevin Brocks (Albany, N.Y.) and Will Masse (Wyoming, R.I.) repeat the role they held as juniors with the Seahawks.

Salve Regina student athletes collected more than a quarter of the total donations during a conference-wide food drive.
