Seahawks spring into action on March 29
NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's tennis serves its first point of the spring on Tuesday, March 29, in Bristol, R.I., against Roger Williams University in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener.
The Seahawk schedule featured four dual matches in the fall, including a win over visiting UMass Boston and a combined dual match with the women's tennis program against Johnson & Wales University. The latter competition included broadcasts of three Seahawk matches from Court Three.
Third-year head coach Cory Tusler begins practice with the Seahawks on February 15 at the recently renovated Hall of Fame Tennis Club (reopened May 20, 2015). Renamed the Von Auersperg Tennis Building, the facility holds three hard indoor tennis courts along with a viewing gallery stretching from end to end. In addition to the permanent indoor structure, another three hard courts are located directly behind a set of outdoor grass courts. Enclosing the courts is a collapsible seasonal bubble which provides indoor use during the winter months, as well as an alternative outdoor surface to the grass during the outdoor tennis season.
