CCC Offensive Player of the Week: Jordan Borges
NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University junior midfielder Jordan Borges (Milford, Mass.) as its Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer.
Borges contributed to a pair of victories for the Seahawks this week, with a tally in each contest. First, factored into three of the team's four goals in a 4-0 win over Mass. Maritime. He picked up assists on the first two tallies of the match before finding the back of the net himself for the third tally. He followed that up by contributing the only goal of the match in a 1-0 conference win over University of New England. He had six points on the week.
"It's always nice when the conference recognizes one of our players for their performances in a given week," said head coach Craig O'Rourke II. "Jordan was outstanding for us this past week… and really for the entire season thus far. His soccer IQ and ability to get on the ball in dangerous pockets of space is simply top shelf and he continues to improve his performances week in and week out. We had 5 goals in the week and he had a hand in 4 of them… that metric alone shows his quality as a player and he honestly makes everyone around him better which is frankly the true mark of a great player."
Salve Regina (5-1-2, 2-0-0 CCC) travels to play Eastern Nazarene on Thursday September 29, at 7:30 p.m.
