CCC Defensive Player of the Week: Casey Kelly

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 4, 2019) - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University junior Casey Kelley (Waldwick, N.J.) as its Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer (October 28 - November 3).

Defensive Player of the Week - Kelly led a defensive unit that has helped carry the Seahawks to a win over CCC rival Wentworth on Tuesday (Oct. 29). Kelly and the Seahawks held the Leopards to a mere three shots on-goal and earned the 4-0 shutout. The strong effort by this season's Defensive Player of the Year was crucial in leading Salve Regina to the CCC regular-season title.

Salve Regina (12-4-3, 6-0-2 CCC), unbeaten in the regular season the last two years against CCC foes, hosts No. 5 seed Nichols College (12-5-2, 4-3-1 CCC) on Tuesday at Toppa Field (5 p.m.).
