Igo factors in all four Seahawk goals

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Donald Igo (Needham, Mass.) scored three times and assisted on a fourth to lead Salve Regina University to a 4-1 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer result against the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 6) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The Seahawks now stand at 10-0-2 on the season, and 3-0-1 in conference dates. UNE's three-game win streak comes to an end as the Nor'easters settle back to 4-8 and 1-3 in league action.
 
Igo gave the visitors an early edge in the 8th minute, drawing a foul in the box on a breakaway and finishing off the ensuing penalty kick. Shots were 11-4 in favor of SRU in the opening half, but the one-goal margin remained.
 
Evan MacDonald (Candia, N.H.) and Jordan Elster (Sutton, Mass.) found Igo in the heart of the box for goals two and three in the 56th and 62nd minutes, respectively. In the 78th minute, Igo setup Nolan Marino (Killingworth, Conn.) to make it 4-0.
 
UNE got on the board just 90 seconds later as Cody Kennedy (Millbury, Conn.) flicked in a header at the right post. Cam Twombly (Saco, Maine) inserted a corner kick from the left side that Lee Esposito (Niskayuna, N.Y.) angled towards the cage, as both registered assists.
 
Michael Payan (Fort Lee, N.J.) turned in three saves for the Seahawks, while the Nor'easters received four from Nathan Delesdernier (Niantic, Conn.).
