NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University junior Jordan Elster (Sutton, Mass.) earned a selection to the United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) 2017 NCAA Division III Men's All-New England Second Team.

This is the first time Elster has earned a selection to the all-region team, and he becomes the sixth Seahawk in the last seven years named to the squad [2014 - Alex Wasilewski, fourth team; 2012 - Jacob Brigandi, second team, and Robert Ernst, first team; 2011 - Ian Jentgen and Sean McAllister, both second team].

Elster, a right back, scored one goal and assisted on two others; his lone goal was a game-winner against UMass Dartmouth (Sept. 13).

A Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) first team performer, Elster joins five other CCC men's soccer players on the United Soccer Coaches all-region team.

Seahawk head coach Craig O'Rourke II: "I'm absolutely thrilled to see Jordan garner this award. His commitment and dedication as a student-athlete has been nothing short of stellar these past few years. Our entire program knows how hard he works, both in the classroom and throughout the off-season, so that when the fall comes, he is ready and capable of being in our eleven and contributing on both sides of the ball to our overall team shape and dynamic. Frankly, it didn't matter what tactical formation we were operating out of last season … Jordan's name was penciled into that right back position for all 19-matches."
