Summary
Salve Regina University men's soccer scored 22 seconds into the contest, added three more first half goals, and finished with a 4-0 non-conference victory over visiting Newbury College at Reynolds Field in Newport, Rhode Island. When sophomore Evan MacDonald (Candia, N.H.) turned toward the goal on the end line and found senior Jared Warren's (Georgetown, Mass.) foot right in front of the net, the Seahawks were on the board 22 seconds into the contest. MacDonald later scored his first goal of 2017 for a 2-0 lead. Freshman Owen Stevenson (Middletown, Conn.) came off the bench to score his first two collegiate goals, the final tally aided by a booming punt from goalkeeper Michael Payan (Fort Lee, N.J.).

The Seahawks have won all three meetings with the Nighthawks, now by a combined score of 17-0 (8-0 in 2008; 5-0 in 2009). Salve Regina has won its first two home games of 2017.
