SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) recognizes Salve Regina University freshman Steven Aston (Sherborn, Mass.) with its Rookie of the Week honor for men's soccer.

Aston played all 200-minutes last week for the Seahawks in a 1-0-1 week in conference play. The freshman anchored a Salve Regina backline that only allowed a single shot on frame during the Seahawks double-overtime draw at Western New England. Aston and the SRU defense then went on to limit the Wentworth offense to just four shots on goal in a 4-0 shutout victory over the Leopards.

Salve Regina's victory on Saturday coupled with a Roger Williams loss knotted both teams at 4-3-1 in conference standings, sharing fourth place. The Seahawks can clinch the fourth seed and a first-round home playoff game in the CCC Championships with a win Wednesday at Eastern Nazarene.
