NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University men's rugby team travels to Marietta, Ga., for the Final Four of the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) National Tournament. Salve Regina will face Claremont on Friday, April 27, at 8 p.m., in the semifinal round.

LAST TIME OUT
(Nov. 19, 2017) - Salve Regina defeated UMaine Farmington 48-22 to punch their ticket to the Final Four. This marks the first return back to the National Championship Final Four since the club won it all in the 2011-2012 season. Joseph Goff '18 was awarded player of the weekend. The squad played as one and stayed tight through tough conditions and a few big injuries. Senior Ben Faulkner put six tries across the line in two games, Liam Burke proved to dominate at the inside center position once again, and Tyler Juliano '20 stepped up as a sub today and scored three tries in the Regional Championship Match.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST

  • Salve Regina (12-0 in 15s play) has outscored its opponents 550-80 this season with five shutouts.
  • Salve Regina defeated Endicott College 37-3 to claim the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) Championship. It marked the second conference title in the last three years as well as the seventh in the last ten.
  • In the NSCRO 15s Regional the Seahawks defeated Holy Cross 51-12, Paul Smith's College 49-0, and finally UMaine Famrington 48-22 to earn their bid into the Final Four.
  • The Seahawks were the 2012 Division III National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Champions. 
  • It is the only National Title for Salve Regina in any sport, varsity or club.
  • Salve Regina's 7s squad has also qualified for the NSCRO 7s National Championships, hosted in Philadelphia, Pa., on the weekend of June 2.
