SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its 2019 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams and major award winners Friday afternoon. Seven of the nine schools were represented on this year's list. Western New England and Endicott tied for the selection lead with 12 student-athlete honorees each.

The Golden Bears and Gulls also cleaned up the major awards. WNE's Jared Ward (Littleton, Mass.) was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while Mitch Weiss (Westfield, Mass.) was voted the Defensive Player of the Year. Their teammate Mike Bannon (Edmond, Okla.) wrapped up his regular season with the Rookie of the Year nod. For the Gulls, senior Hayden Souza (West Harford, Conn.) claimed his third straight CCC Short-Stick Specialist of the Year Award, while his classmate Grant Garrity (Duxbury, Mass.) was named the CCC Scholar-Athlete. Golden Bears head coach John Klepacki captured his fourth-career CCC Coach of the Year award and Gordon and Nichols were voted the Team Sportsmanship award winners.

For Salve Regina, Pat Leary (Wakefield, Mass.) was the only honoree, his second All-CCC team after being named Rookie of the Year and a first-team attack in 2018. This season Leary led the Seahawks in scoring with 40 goals and 13 assists for 53 total points ranking him third in goal scoring and seventh in overall points in the CCC.

"Pat Leary is a tremendous leader," said Salve Regina head coach Pat Cooney. "His teammates look to him for guidance and direction.  We look forward to seeing Pat continue competing as a Seahawk".

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the nine CCC head men's lacrosse coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Salve Regina (6-7, 3-5 CCC) opens the 2019 postseason on the road versus third seeded Roger Williams University on Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m.
