LoCicero, Mongelli named to All-CCC squad

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its 2017 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams and major award winners Friday afternoon. Eight of the nine CCC schools were represented on this year's All-Conference list. Western New England was the most decorated team with 10 selections.  Salve Regina University had two members of the men's lacrosse team make the All-CCC squad.

Senior attack Nick LoCicero (Lynbrook, N.Y.) garnered second team honors and sophomore defenseman Mike Mongelli (Roslyn, N.Y) was named to the third team. 

LoCicero scored 28 goals and registered 38 assists. His 65 total points ranked third in the CCC. LoCicero finishes his Salve Regina career with 89 goals and 181 assists. He ranks ninth all-time for goals scored in Seahawks program history and has the top career marks for assists and total points (270). He also holds the single season records for points (80; 2016) and assists (63; 2014). 

Mongelli gets named to his first all-conference squad after grabbing 65 ground balls, sixth most in the conference, and causing 30 turnovers, the second most in the CCC. Mongelli also scored four times this season, the first goals of his collegiate career.

Voting for the All-CCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted by the conference's nine men's lacrosse head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.
