Summary
The Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team has won two straight after defeating Manhattanville College 10-8 in non-conference action Thursday night at Gaudet Field.

Series and Streaks
This was the first ever meeting between the teams. The Seahawks now lead the series 1-0.

Three Stars of the Game

Turning Point
A 3-1 scoring run in the fourth quarter helped the Seahawks put enough distance between themselves and the Valiants. Andrew Fera scored his fourth of the night with 12:46 to play, but Caccavo answered with his fourth for Manhattanville to make it a one score game, 8-7. Eric Backus (Mansfield, Mass.) ripped a shot home with 7:08 to play to give Salve Regina some breathing room, then Zach Makoske (Shoreham, N.Y.) put the game out of reach with his 11th goal of the season with 3:43 left to play, giving Salve Regina a 10-7 lead.

Quick Hits

  • Andrew Murray (Yonkers, N.Y.) made things interesting when he scored with 50 seconds left to make it a two-score game, but Gonzalez won a big draw for Salve Regina and the Seahawks defense clamped down, not allowing a shot to close out the game.
  • The Seahawks held a 26-23 advantage in shots with a 19-18 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Zach Hoffman (Loudonville, N.Y.) made nine saves in the loss for the Valiants.
