Summary
After a shutout second quarter in which the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team tied the game 4-4, visiting Western New England University scored nine unanswered in the second half to earn a 13-4 road victory in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play Thursday afternoon.

This was the 10th meeting between the Seahawks and Golden Bears and Western New England owns a 10-0 record in the all-time series.

1 – WNE senior Jon Bota (Mahopac, N.Y.) scored four times and collected five ground balls.
2 – WNE senior David Cedrone (Yantic, Conn.) won 15 faceoffs and collected a game-high 11 groundballs.
3 – WNE senior Mike Jednak (Franklin, Mass.) scored three times.

The Golden Bears won 15-22 faceoffs and collected 65 ground balls, allowing them to control the game and limit the Seahawks time on offense.

Turning Point
The Seahawks had trailed 4-2 but ground out a shutout second quarter to tie the game 4-4. However the Golden Bears scored three goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter as part of a 9-0 run in the second half.
