Fee, LoCicero captains for 2016

Newport, R.I. – Senior James Fee (Massapequa, N.Y.) and junior Nick LoCicero (Lynbrook, N.Y.) will serve as team captains of the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team for the 2016 season.  They will lead a good mix of upperclassmen and newcomers, highlighted by 13 seniors.

"We are excited about James and Nick leading this great group of young men," said head coach Patrick Cooney.  "James and Nick get after it on and off the field.  Both are examples of Salve student-athletes achieving in academia, holding part time jobs, and helping the greater Salve community."

Senior James Fee returns to the field after missing the 2015 season due to injury.  He served as captain in 2015.  A true two-way midfielder, Fee will graduate this May. Fee recorded 29 points (22 goals and seven assists with 56 GB's) in 2014 as a sophomore.  His freshman year he recorded 23 points (17 goals and 6 assists with 39GB's).  "James has helped this team get better. He imparts a toughness and positive work ethic to this team. James embodies the whole senior class," said Cooney.

Junior attackman Nick LoCicero, also served as captain in 2015. LoCicero is working toward a degree in marketing.  He serves as vice president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).  LoCicero recorded 47 points (17 goals and 30 assists with 26 GB's) in 2015.  As a freshman, he recorded 78 points (15 goals and 63 assists with 31 GB's). He currently ranks No. 1 in Seahawk all-time assists with 93 and No. 1 in points per game (3.91).  "Nick assists us in so many ways. He helps promote a positive student-athlete culture we want for all of our student-athletes. He's got vision on and off the field," said Cooney.

The Seahawks begin the 2016 season at home on February 20, hosting Emmanuel College at the Gaudet Field Turf Complex.
