MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The Salve Regina men's lacrosse team made a strong come back against Mount Ida College in the fourth quarter on Wednesday afternoon at Gaudet Field, but came up just short as the Mustangs came away with their first win of the season, 11-7.
Salve Regina fell behind 1-0 in the first 29 seconds of the game when defensemen Michael Whitney (Chaska, Minn.), a sophomore for the Mustangs put his team on the board. Freshmen attackman Sharp Jones (Scituate, Mass.) answered back minutes later to tie the game at 1-1. For the first quarter of the game the Seahawks and Mustangs were neck and neck, with the quarter ending Salve ahead 3-2.
