McKeon named TCCC Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman Curtis McKeon (West Haven, Conn.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Rookie of the Week.

McKeon won 67 percent of his face-offs (35-of-52) and also chipped in with four points (1-3-4) as the Seahawks split a pair of games last week. In a 16-12 loss at Babson on Wednesday, McKeon recorded one goal, one assist, and six ground balls while winning 16-of-30 face-offs. He followed up that performance by winning 17-of-22 face-offs and dishing out a pair of helpers in a 15-12 win over conference foe Nichols on Saturday.

McKeon joins classmate Chad Hollenshade (Lutherville, Md.) as the second Salve Regina men's lacrosse student-athlete to garner ROW honors this season. Hollenshade took home the honor on two occasions - March 14 and March 21.

The Seahawks (7-7, 4-4 TCCC) return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Gordon for a 7 p.m. conference matchup.
