Bio

Chris Davis was named Salve Regina Assistant Mens Hockey coach in August 2017. Davis will head the video coordination of Seahawk men's ice hockey as well as organizing the teams in-game systems, positioning, and opponent breakdowns.

Chris Davis is no stranger to head Coach Zech Klann as they were teammates while playing college hockey for the UMass Minutemen in Hockey East. After earning a scholarship to play for UMass Hockey, Coach Davis played professional hockey in the East Coast Hockey League in the Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins farm systems. Davis finished his professional career playing two seasons overseas in Sweden for Vasterviks IK.

Last season, Coach Davis helped coach Salve Regina Hockey to its best season in program history earning a record of 22-6-2 with a National Championship runner up. It was the closest any Salve Regina athletic team has ever come to a national title. In the 2018-2019 season, Davis will continue to implement his strengths of breaking down opponent video, systemic game planning, and player evaluation.

A North Kingstown, RI native, Coach Davis has a Master’s of Business Administration and a Bachelors in Psychology. Davis played his prep hockey at Avon Old Farms in Avon, CT. He captained the hockey team to back to back New England Championships in 2004 & 2005.
