Bio
Bryan Kriner enters his fourth season behind the bench for the Salve Regina Men’s hockey team. Kriner a native of Newport, R.I. played locally for Portsmouth Abbey School before moving his talents to the Boston Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League. Kriner played collegiately for Curry College in 08’-09’ then transferred to Plymouth State University from 09’-12’ where he helped lead the Panthers to their first ever league championship and the school’s first ever appearance in the NCAA division 3 tournament.
Kriner quickly started his coaching career soon after signing a contract with Plymouth State for the 12’-13’ season in which they lost in the league championship. Coach Kriner then moved to the Junior A ranks and coached the now known Lewiston/Auburn Fighting Spirit who lost in the Jr. A national semi-finals in Las Vegas to the eventual National champion. Coach Kriner then moved back home to Newport and quickly moved behind the bench of the Seahawks under the Helm of head coach Andy Boschetto, and in the first three seasons has seen similar success to his past coaching experiences losing in the championship in the 14’-15’ season and followed that up with the next year winning the school’s first ECAC Northeast championship and first appearance to the NCAA championship, then helping the Seahawks earn their first national ranking throughout the 2016-17 season.
