Summary
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. - For the second straight night a power play goal in the second period is the difference for the Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team. Tonight, it was a power play tally from Vincent Marino (Waterford, Mich.), his first career goal, at 12:29 of the second period that proved to be the difference in a 4-2 victory over visiting Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

The Bison still lead 21-20-4 all-time however the Seahawks have now won the last six meetings.
Three Stars of the Game
- Salve Regina sophomore Louis-Felix St. Jean (St. Bruno, Quebec) made 31 saves to improve to 3-0-0 in net for the Seahawks.
- Salve Regina sophomore Danny Eruzione (Winthrop, Mass.) had a pair of assists, including one on the game-winning goal.
- Salve Regina freshman Vincent Marino netted his first goal of the season on the power play in the second period to give the Seahawks a 3-1 lead.
Turning Point
J.B. Baker (Columbia, Md.) scored at 15:34 of the third period to draw the Bison within a goal at 3-2. Like the night before, the Bison pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, but this time the Seahawks were able to make them pay when Erik Udahl (East Walpole, Mass.) sent a rink-wide shot high in the air that slowly trickled down and in to the open net to seal the win for the Seahawks with 18 seconds remaining.
Quick Hits
- Korbinian Lutz (Muchen, Germany) made 29 saves in his first collegiate appearance, falling to 0-1-0 in net.
- Salve Regina led 2-0 in the game. Nick Mangone (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) scored to draw the Bison within one, but 85 seconds later the Seahawks reestablished a two-goal lead with Marino's power play goal.
- The Seahawks went 1-for-7 on the power play while holding the Bison to 0-for-9 on the man advantage, including a five-minute major and 5-on-3 opportunity for the Bison.
- The teams were even at 33 shots apiece in the game.
