Seahawks move up to No. 4 in the nation

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team has been ranked fourth in the nation by D3Hockey.com and USCHO.com in the latest polls.

This is the highest ranking ever in program history from either poll.

Salve Regina opened the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason last weekend as the number one seed and held servce at home against Western New England University. The Seahawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and exploded for four goals in the third period to pullaway with an 8-1 victory.

The Seahawks (20-4-2, 14-2-2 CCC), continue to add to their program record for wins in a season. They will host fifth seeded Nichols College on Saturday, February 24 at 4 p.m., in the semifinals.
