Seahawks ranked sixth in both national polls

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team has been ranked sixth in the nation by D3Hockey.com and USCHO.com in the latest polls.

The rankings match the highest in program history, set last week. Salve Regina has gone 7-1 this year versus other ranked teams.

"It's been great for the team and the school to get some national recognition, but we as a group try not to let that distract us from our goals," said senior captain Pat Thompson (Hellertown, Pa.). "We are where we are because we've trusted the process as a family, which is key for us. The final stretch only gets harder too, every team will give us their best. I have confidence in the guys though, we have the opportunity to do something really special this year as a unit."

The Seahawks (17-4-2, 12-2-2 CCC) have won four in a row and 11 of their last 12, and will wrap up the regular season with a weekend series against Nichols.
