NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's ice hockey goaltender Frankie McCormick (Peabody, Mass.) has earned the Goaltender of the Week award for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast (ECACNE).

McCormick stopped all 23 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory over Franklin Pierce on Friday, December 5, earning his first career shutout in his first start of the 2014-15 season. McCormick improves his career record to 2-3 with a .892 GAA.

The Seahawks, now 4-4-2 (3-2 ECACNE), are off until the new year. The team will begin 2015 with three straight home games. First a back-to-back with Skidmore on January 2, 2015 at 7 p.m. and Castleton on January 3, 2015 at 7 p.m. followed by Daniel Webster on January 10, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
