DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Hockey League announced its All-Academic Team on Monday. A total of 110 student-athletes from all eight institutions earned the distinction. Salve Regina University placed 12 student athletes on the team.

HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Junior Alex Larson (Madison, Ala.) turned aside all 46 shots he faced to backstop the Nichols College men’s ice hockey team to its second-consecutive Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Championship with a 3-0 shutout of Salve Regina University Saturday afternoon at Levy Rink.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – John Scorcia (Hudson, Fla.) registered a hat-trick as part of a six point performance to help the Salve Regina University men’s ice hockey team to a 9-3 victory over Johnson & Wales and advance to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Championship.

DANBURY, Conn. – Nichols College defenseman Kyle Shapiro (Ambler, Pa.) and goaltender Alex Larson (Madison, Ala.), along with Johnson and Wales University goaltender Joey Ballmer (Kalamazoo, Mich.) and Salve Regina University forward Evan Schmidbauer (San Diego, Calif.) were all honored with ECAC Northeast Hockey yearly awards on Thursday. Along with the All-Conference teams being announced, Shapiro was named Player of the Year, Larson and Ballmer were tabbed Co-Goaltenders of the Year and Schmidbauer was recognized as the Rookie of the Year. In addition, Bison Head Coach Kevin Swallow was tabbed the Northeast Coach of the Year.
