SALVE REGINA VS. JOHNSON & WALES
  • Salve Regina and Johnson & Wales have faced off 24 times before with the Wildcats holding a 16-8 advantage. 
  • The Seahawks have won the previous three meetings, including a 2-1 decision over the Wildcats at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence earlier this season. 
  • Salve Regina's season-series sweep of Johnson & Wales last year snapped an eight-game skid to the Wildcats. 
  • In Salve Regina's 2-1 win this year, sophomore Marc Biggs tallied his sixth goal of the season while the Seahawks were shorthanded to open the third period for the eventual game-winner.

  • Sunday's game marks the final regular season game for the Seahawks seven seniors. 
  • Prior to the game, Salve Regina will honor Alex Barr, Kenny Craig, Chase Davis, William Gomolinski, Chad Hollenshade, Trey Rasmussen and David Watkins.
  • The seven players have combined for 479 games, 54 goals and 85 assists (139 points) over the last four years. 
  • Hollenshade (9g, 25a • 34 points) and Gomolinski (20g, 11a • 31 points) have the two highest point totals for the graduation seniors. 
  • Hollenshade (91) and Watkins (92) played in the most games for the Seahawks over their four year careers of the players graduating.

  • Following Sunday's contest, the Seahawks will begin action in the ECAC Northeast tournament.

    - A Seahawks win on Sunday, combined with a Nichols loss and a Wentworth tie/loss on Satuday.

     - A Seahawk win on Sunday combined with a tie from Nichols and a Wentworth tie/loss on Saturday. 
  • The lowest seed the Seahawks will have is the number three spot, giving Salve Regina its first ever home playoff game on March 1.

I'M HONORED

  • Junior John Scorcia and sophomore David Chiokadze were named the ECAC Northeast Player and Goalie of the Week for the week ending 2/18.
  • Scorcia posted three points for the Salve Regina men's ice hockey team. Scorcia scored the first two goals of the game before handing out an assist on the first goal of the third period. With the three points, the junior moved into fourth all-time in points at Salve Regina with 77.
  • Posting his second-highest saves total this season, Chiokadze helped the Seahawks to a 6-1 win in the crucial ECAC Northeast contest last week. The sophomore goalie allowed just one goal late in the third on a power play. The .971 save percentage was Chiokadze's highest of the season until his shutout against Nichols Monday night. 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Salve Regina improved to 11-13 on the season with a 3-1 win over Western New England Wednesday night. 
  • Sophomore David Chiokadze followed up his first career shutout with an outstanding 34-save performance for his fifth win of the season in net for Salve Regina. 
  • Freshman Jonathan Felteau scored a pair of special team goals (a shorthanded and power play) to help the Seahawks to a 3-1 win. 
  • Sophomore Peter Gintoli and junior John Scorcia connected for the Seahawks final goal just over the half way mark of the third period.

ECAC NORTHEAST PRESEASON POLL
  • Salve Regina ranks second in the 2013-14 Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Northeast preseason coaches' poll (54 points).
  • The Seahawks finished last year with a 5-7-2 mark in the conference to earn a No. 5 seed.
  • After defeating No. 4 Western New England in the opening round of the conference tournament, the Seahawks went on to upset No. 2 Nichols before falling to No. 1 Wentworth in the conference title game.
