Bronstein and Mannix named captains for men's basketball
NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's basketball head coach Sean Foster has announced a junior and a senior as his captains for the 2018-19 season - Andrew Bronstein (Needham, Mass.) and Kevin Mannix (Barrington, R.I.) - both serving in the role for the first time.
Mannix enters his senior season with 73 career games played and starts in 39; he has always shot over 42 percent from the floor and this season has made 64.7 percent of his field goals (11-for-17). Bronstein had the fourth highest single season assist total (126) in the history of the program as a sophomore last season; he has started 38 of his 51 games played to date.
"Our two captains, Kevin and Andrew, have both been leaders since they first put on the Seahawk uniform," says Foster in his 17th year as head coach. "Their commonality is a willingness to always put the team goals above their own. The staff is excited to see them have a tremendous positive influence on our young group."
