CCC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week: Kevin Kelly (Dec. 4-10)

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Kevin Kelly (Valhalla, N.Y.) as its Rookie of the Week for men's basketball (Dec. 4 - 10).

Rookie of the Week - Kelly had a pair of double-digit scoring games for Salve Regina as the Seahawks went 1-1 this week. Kelly opened the week with 13 points against Wentworth in a narrow 77-72 conference loss. He also picked up six rebounds and three assists in that contest. He recorded a double-double later in the week with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Worcester State. He had three more assists and four steals in that contest. His free throws in the final minute of that game helped seal the victory for Salve Regina. Overall he averaged 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

Salve Regina (5-3) finishes its 2017 schedule in New London, Conn., when it travels there to face Mitchell College (Dec. 12 @ 7 p.m.) and Coast Guard (Dec. 31 @ 1 p.m.).
