Summary
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Salve Regina University freshman Kevin Kelly (Valhalla, N.Y.) earned a spot on the all-tourney team in the Herb Kenny Tip-Off Tournament (hosted by Wesleyan University). Kelly scored 16 points in his collegiate debut, a 70-61 setback to Mitchell College on Friday night, and then led the Seahawks in points (22) and rebounds (nine) in a Saturday afternoon loss to Anna Maria (81-76). Senior teammate Rodney Morton (Malden, Mass.) played 77 of 80 minutes on the weekend and scored 20 points in both games while shooting 33.3 percent from the floor. Morton had six assists against the AMCATS.

Series and Streaks
Salve Regina leads the all-time series with Anna Maria, a former member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), 27-23; the Seahawks and Mariners have met five times - Salve Regina won the first three meetings and Mitchell has won the last two - and will meet again next month in New London, Conn. (Dec. 12, 2017). Since 1982, Salve Regina is 16-19 in season openers.
