SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Student-athletes from all 10 member institutions in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2014-15 All-CCC Men's Basketball Team. In addition to the all-conference team, five major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award winner were selected, including the Rookie of the Year honor for Salve Regina University freshman Bryce Boggs (Hyde Park, N.Y.).

Nichols College junior Irving Eggleston and Endicott College sophomore Kamahl Walker share CCC Player of the Year recognition. Gordon College senior Hans Miersma was honored for the third-straight year as the CCC Defensive Player of the Year. Salve Regina University freshman Bryce Boggs was named CCC Rookie of the Year, while Wentworth Institute of Technology senior John-Michael Fragnoli was awarded Senior Scholar Athlete. Nichols' Tom Glynn was tabbed CCC Coach of the Year and Wentworth Institute of Technology received the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Guards made up 13 of the 16 all-conference selections, including Salve Regina junior Barrett Hanlon (Hopkinton, Mass.).

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC men's basketball coaches.

A 6-foot-2 guard, Boggs enjoyed a solid debut season in Newport, tying for eighth in the CCC in scoring with 14.0 points per game, a mark that led all Salve Regina players and CCC freshmen who played in at least 75% of their team's games. The talented newcomer started 23 of 25 contests for the Seahawks, tops among all Salve players, while also averaging 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Besides leading his team in minutes played (716) and points (335), Boggs led the Salve squad in field goals (124), free throws (76) and steals (39), while also placing second on the team in rebounds (128), assists (44).  A two-time CCC Rookie of the Week, Boggs scored in double figures 18 times, including five games with more than 20 points.

"Bryce Boggs had a tremendous initial year with our program and showed the ability to have a strong impact at the offensive end," said 13th-year head coach Sean Foster. "We look forward to his future in Seahawk blue."

Hanlon made his junior season debut in January after recovering from off-season surgery. In just 16 games played (all but one against CCC opponents), Hanlon had a team-best scoring average of 15.8 points per game (252 points). He posted a career-high 40 points in a loss at Curry College last Saturday, two shy of the all-time school record held by Roy Jansen (Feb. 17, 1994). Hanlon's 13 field goals made against the Colonels trail only Jansen's 18 against Wentworth 21 years ago for the most in school history. He also dished out nine assists, one shy of his personal best at Western New England last season. In just two seasons with the Seahawks, Hanlon has 671 career points and two appearances on the all-conference team.

"Barrett Hanlon overcame a great deal of adversity to finish out the year strong. Our staff is pleased to see his hard work recognized and we are excited for him to have a healthy senior year where he can show his capabilities."
