NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Bryce Boggs (Hyde Park, Mass.) as its Rookie of the Week for men's basketball (Nov. 24-30).

Rookie of the Week - Boggs averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Seahawks. In a thrilling 84-76 overtime victory against Coast Guard, Boggs collected a career-high 27 points. After tying the game at 72-72 on a layup with five seconds to go in regulation, Boggs scored seven of the Seahawks' 12 points in overtime to seal the win. Later in the week he added eight points, three boards, three steals and two assists in a 69-54 setback against Rhode Island College. For the week, Boggs shot 46% (11-of-24) from the floor, including 50% (2-of-4) from three-point range, and 74% (11-of-15) from the charity stripe.

"Bryce has made solid strides in his first college semester and continues to improve daily and develop," says 14th-year head coach Sean Foster. "His ability to attack the rim and finish with strength will be an asset for our program going forward."

The Seahawks (3-3; 0-0 CCC) open their conference schedule on Wednesday hosting the Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology at 7:30 p.m., after the conclusion of the women's basketball game.
