CCC Player of the Week: Barrett Hanlon
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) recognizes Salve Regina University sophomore guard Barrett Hanlon (Hopkinton, Mass.) with its Player of the Week honor for men's basketball.
Player of the Week - Hanlon poured in a career-high 32 points to lift the Seahawks to an 88-81 road win at Gordon. Hanlon shot an impressive 72% (13-of-18) from the field, while adding four rebounds, four assists, and one steal in the seven-point victory. Earlier in the week, the sophomore netted 14 points, gathered six rebounds, earned four steals, and dished three assists in a tough 56-49 loss to an Eastern Nazarene team that is on an eight-game winning streak.
Hanlon missed five games recently recovering from an injury suffered during an overtime win at Curry College on January 18. Salve Regina went 2-3 without Hanlon in the lineup; 13-5 with him on the court. Hanlon ranks second in the league in scoring (18.2 ppg) behind only Ryan Sheehan of Nichols College (18.4 ppg).
This is the second time this season Hanlon has been recognized the player of the week award from the CCC.
The Seahawks play at Western New England University on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., before hosting Curry College on Saturday at 3 p.m. with senior day recognition for five players - Jeff Bielefeld (Littleton, Mass.), Patrick Dinneen (Medfield, Mass.), Joshua Fuhrmeister (Bonn, Germany), Joshua Hohlfelder (Noank, Conn.), and Alex Pratt (Nashua, N.H.).
