SALVE REGINA VS. JOHNSON & WALES
  • This is the 20th meeting between the Seahawks and Wildcats.
  • Salve Regina, which leads the series 12-7, earned a four-point overtime victory (79-75) against Johnson & Wales in Providence, R.I., last season.
  • Isiah Pringle hit 10-of-18 shots from the field to lead all players with 24 points. Pringle added two assists, three treys, and a pair of steals, while Joshua Hohlfelder drained 7-of-9 from the field for 17 points and four rebounds. Jeff Bielefeld notched a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.
  • The Wildcats were led by Quarry Greenway who stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks. Curtis Lucas and Tom Garrick Jr. each dropped 15 points, while Frank Robinson finished with 12 points, six boards, four assists, and a pair of steals.
  • Last year's Seahawk victory ended a four-year win streak for the Wildcats in the series.

  • Salve Regina ranks fifth in the conference's pre-season coaches' poll, released on Friday.
  • Gordon and Curry both received four first-place votes, but the Scots edged the Colonels in total points.
  • Salve Regina finished just ahead of Eastern Nazarene in the poll, a team the Seahawks lost to in first-round action of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Basketball Championships last season.
